#ThisFirst ...Make Your Passion Your Paycheck

We're searching the Earth, looking for 15 people who are ready to make their passion their paycheck. 15 people who are ready to say, "F@%k That. This First." So what's your "This"? That one thing more than anything in your life that you are passionate about doing and would love to be able to make your full-time gig. Tell us by entering Volcom's #ThisFirst contest for the chance to win the opportunity to get paid by Volcom while you spend six weeks focusing on your "this". Applying is easy; we've thrown out the traditional job application and replaced it with one simple question, "What's your 'This' and what would it mean to you to put #ThisFirst?". Starting today, you can choose to submit your application with either a video or photo in a comment on our Facebook post or by making a new video or photo post with a caption to your Instagram (don't forget those hashtags); visit the ThisFirst contest page for further details and which is also where you can enter your submission directly to us. Why choose between doing what you love and doing what pays? Let Volcom give you that extra push to prioritize your passion. But don't wait, applications are only being accepted through June 21, 2017. Apply Now NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Early Season At Brighton Resort With Mike Ravelson And Parker Szumowski
Just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, and up Big Cottonwood Canyon, lays Brighton Resort, one of snowboarding’s most traveled and sought-after shred meccas. With consistently good weather and snow, Brighton holds down a wide range of terrain consisting of “as good as it gets” backcountry access, tree runs, pristine groomers, multiple terrain parks, and the buzzing media hype DIY spot, The Bone Zone. If you ever get a chance to ride Brighton, you will easily see why a healthy chunk of snowboarding’s professionals call this place one of their favorite resorts to visit. A year ago, East Coast native and Volcom team rider Mike Ravelson posted up in SLC with a fun group of friends that have been welcomed into the community with open arms. This season, Rav’s close friend and Volcom new blood, Parker Szumowski, followed his lead by making the commitment to spend the shred season in SLC and ride Brighton as much as humanly possible.   This year, with heavy anticipation of the first decent snowfall, the Brighton locals took it upon themselves to fire up the mountain with energy by creating the early season DIY jib park, The Bone Zone. Consisting of hand built and existing park features, shredders can get an early fix and jump on tuning up tricks they have been dreaming about all summer before the lifts officially open. The edit features Rav and Parker, along with a couple bros, for a few laps and some energy-filled sessions at Brighton during opening weekend a few short weeks ago.
2017 Volcom Snowboarding Outerwear
Jump in the van… the Volcom van! Last season the Volcom fleet roamed around North America, making stops from Alaska to Lake Tahoe, re-fueling in the Midwest, making excuses for some rope-tow high jinx, and escaping into the B.C. abyss at Baldface Lodge. No plans, just shred! 2017 Volcom Snowboarding Outerwear - COMING SOON!

Vans First Layer Short Movie
Vans Snowboarding made a great short movie from Japan past winter. Of course Volcom riders were present in full force… Markus Keller, DBK and Valerian Ducourtil drowned in pow. Check it out here: Our boys (Keller) come in at 2:21. Tune in, then book your next flight straight to Hokkaido. Thanks Vans.
Marcus Kleveland Upside Down Down Under!
The Kleveland show just came back from 5 weeks spent flipping and spinning all over Perisher, NZ and other Oz mountains.. Here a nice edit of what he’s being doing. Marcus is always in full control of all things snowboarding. However, from the sounds of it, someone picked the soundtrack for him this time around. How else would you explain the absence of the usual “Justin Bieber on speed” sound? Go Marcus! Marcus is wearing the Kabigtime Fleece in WHT, the Stretch Gore pant in TEK and the Travelin’ Hood Thingy in BLK
Volcom Dads That Shred!
Click here to Shop Father's Day clothing + accessories for the dad in your life! BRYAN IGUCHI Guch on Fatherhood: I find endless inspiration in fatherhood. I really enjoy sharing the little miracles of life with them. To see the excitement of discovery put a sparkle in their eye fills my heart with joy. It's without a doubt the best thing that's ever happened to me. Bryan Iguchi was born and raised in Southern California. He grew up riding Snow Summit in the heat of snowboarding’s uprise, and was a key element to the progression of man-made snowboard parks. After his time in California, he packed up shop and escaped for the mountains, landing in beautiful Wyoming in a little place called Jackson Hole where he would find his ultimate paradise. Two decades later, Guch is considered the godfather of the Jackson Hole snowboard community and still an active player on the mountains today. He’s part of the "older" generation nowadays, but it's safe to say he snowboards twice as much as the younger up-and-comers due to his unconditional love for the sport. He was one of the first snowboarders added to the Volcom Stone team roster in 1991 and has become the foundation of what Volcom Snowboarding is today. Bryan Iguchi and family Iguchi method grab *See an extended interview & video with Guch from Teton Gravity Research HERE   GAVIN BESCHEN Gavin on Fatherhood: Let your kids follow their own dreams. Don’t push them in any direction, but always be there to support them. Always be positive and help shed light from above. As a youngster, Gavin Beschen grew up in Southern California in San Clemente, a strong, tight-knit surf community which houses the famous Lower, Trestles point break. Gavin's fluid and effortless style is one-of-a-kind, but he grew up admiring local San Clemente guys like Dino Andino, Matt Archbold, and the McNulty brothers for their raw power and humble support. After graduating high school in '94, Gavin spent a majority of his time on the North Shore of Oahu, and two years later found himself calling it his home. Now, twenty years later, and Gavin is still loving the paradise that he found, calling it "a piece of heaven," living his dream with his wife and young son. Gavin surfing near his home on the North Shore of Oahu *Watch new footage of Gavin surfing in Maui w/ more of the Volcom team HERE RUNE GLIFBERG Rune Glifberg, straight outta Copenhagen, Denmark, has been riding for Volcom ever since we can remember. A legend in the skate scene, Rune is a father first, to his two beautiful daughters, and an all-around great human.   OZZIE WRIGHT Ozzie on Fatherhood: Trying to be the best man you can be and leading by example says more than just telling your kids what to do all the time. Making sure you are healthy and you'll be coming home to them 'til they are old enough to look after themselves. Ozzie Wright: father, pro surfer, artist, musician, 100% rad dad hailing from Sydney, Australia needs no introduction (but here it comes anyway). A Volcom team rider since the 90's grunge era, Ozzie has been making a statement in the surf scene for years. Known for his air game and punk-rock-grunge-rock-whatever style, he paints everything he sees and sees everything to paint. Ozzie lives in Australia with his family which includes his two young children, who are both destined to be some type of artist, surfer, or musician... Ozzie surfing in South America, as seen in the Veeco Film Production, Psychic Migrations *Follow Ozzie around on his Instagram page (@ozzywrong) to keep updated w/ his newest art projects, tour schedule w/ his band, Goons of Doom, and of course, his surfing!
