V/  What was your process to create it? Any hiccups along the way?

JB/  First I took a photo of the guitar on my iPad then mocked up a few rough ideas on it using Procreate. Once I was happy with the design, I copied the outline of it onto the guitar itself with a special wax pencil that can draw on shiny surfaces. The tricky part was finding a medium that would adhere to the guitar as I drew it on and wouldn’t just rub off with subsequent coats. It was tricky and fickle but I got there in the end.

V/  What materials did you use?

JB/  I used Posca pens and Liquitex acrylic markers.

V/  What music were you listening to while creating this piece?

JB/ Throughout this project, I was listening to a lot of SKINSHAPE, The Mattson 2, The Cactus Channel, Hockey Dad, and various Peruvian psychedelic chicha. Lots of shiny, hazy jungle and seaside vibes dripping with jazzy guitar.

V/  If you could shred any song on this guitar what would it be?

JB/ Probably “Got caught in Amsterdam” by Arc De Soleil. That’s the song I hear whenever I see or think about this guitar and It’s got such a killer hook!

V/ Would you love to: set in on fire Hendrix style? Smash it up on stage? Or hang it on a wall?

JB/ Definitely let it burn Hendrix style! After dousing it in certain flammable, sugar cane derived beverages of course. Raise a toast to it then torch it.

V/  Could you teel us about your artwork and the idea behind it?

SC/  I drew a screaming eagle. I thought it’d be fitting for a lead guitar and I like drawing eagles.

V/  What was your process to create it? Any hiccups along the way?

SC/ Yep. I started by sanding the guitar back with wet n’ dry sandpaper, then used model airplane paints with a paintbrush. Those paints were supposed to be used with an airbrush. So, trying to get a good consistent smooth finish was hell.  Which meant painting the thing twice to get the colours to look solid.

V/  What music were you listening to while creating this piece?

SC/ Hip hop, a producer called Lingo and another called Sicknature.

V/  If you could shred any song on this guitar what would it be?

SC/ Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love - Van Halen

V/  Would you love to: set it on fire Hendrix style? Smash it up on stage? Or hang it on a wall?

SC/ Set it on fire for sure! 😂😂😂 or hang it on a wall. I think setting it on fire would be more enjoyable.

V/  Could you tell us about your artwork and the idea behind it?

F/  It’s a gorgeous curvy guitar so I depicted a beautiful curvy animal, if you wanted to be artsy about it you could say that the interaction of the snake with the hand reflects the interaction of the player with the sensual curves of the guitar. Or you could just say I thought it would look cool...

V/  What was your process to create it? Any hiccups along the way?

SC/ The lacquered surface presented a challenge since I usually use watered down paint washes. On this surface it had to be enamel with no room for error, so it was high stakes, the only hiccup was feeling stressed that I was going to ruin an object that’s beautiful to start with.

V/  What materials did you use?

F/ Enamel paint.

V/  What music were you listening to while creating this piece?

F/ Season 12 of Greys Anatomy.

V/  If you could shred any song on this guitar what would it be?

F/ Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry/Marty McFly.

V/  Would you love to: set in on fire Hendrix style? Smash it up on stage? Or hang it on a wall?

F/ Straight to the pool room!

V/  Could you tell us about your artwork and the idea behind it?

OW/  My idea for the artwork was just one of my favourite sayings I made up "shoot rainbows into fascism" basically stick it to the man.

V/  What was your process to create it? Any hiccups along the way?

OW/ I used fabric as I've been making all my new art on sewing machine lately out of fabric…so I wanted to incorporate the fabric into my work. I usually draw on all my boards and I play bass and always draw and customise my bass guitars too, just sticking things to them is best or spray paint or marker or stickers I used a lot of glue. Super glue araldite wood glue ended up the best I think. Main hiccups were super glue on my fingers.

V/  What materials did you use?

OW/ Fabric, glue stickers paper marking pen and paint.

V/  What music were you listening to while creating this piece?

OW/ I listened to a lot of African music Ngozi Family, Black Power, lots of Zamrock.

V/  If you could shred any song on this guitar what would it be?

OW/ The night I did the art, I actually wrote and recorded a song on it and made a video…it's called "the bang bang boogie."....might put it on youtube.
Editors note: He put it on insta and it rules and it’s HERE.

V/  Would you love to: set in on fire Hendrix style? Smash it up on stage? Or hang it on a wall?

OW/ Maybe I could smash it while it was burning and hang the remains on the wall!!!
